Safari Experiences & Lodge Amenities at Morala

Activities at Morala are designed to complement your private safari stay and are tailored to your group’s interests, pace, and energy levels. With a private guide and vehicle, experiences are flexible and personalised.

Unique amenities include a fully equipped gym and a pétanque court and a beautiful Boma. It provides guests with comfortable living areas, a pool and an outside deck with endless horizons over the reserve.

Safari Game Drives
Morning and evening safari game drives in open safari vehicles with your personal accredited guide. Drives are adapted to your interests and pace, allowing time to explore different areas of the reserve and enjoy close wildlife encounters.

Nature Viewing at the Lodge
The lodge’s decks and outdoor living spaces overlook open wilderness areas, attracting wildlife throughout the day and offering guests front-row seats to nature from the comfort of the lodge.

Swimming Pool & Outdoor Relaxation
Enjoy unstructured time around the swimming pool and outdoor decks, whether for quiet moments of relaxation or shared family time, immersed in the sounds and rhythms of the bush.

Pétanque Court
A relaxed and social activity set within the lodge grounds, perfect for friendly games in the afternoon or early evening, surrounded by nature.

Fully Equipped Gym
Guests have access to a fully equipped on-site gym, allowing them to maintain their fitness routine while on safari. The gym includes a treadmill, stationary bike, stepper machine, TRX system, free weights, and a multi-function strength machine.

Guided Bush Walks - Wildlife
Guided bush walks led by an experienced ranger, offering a slower and more intimate way to experience the African bush. Learn to read animal tracks, observe plant life, and discover the smaller details of the ecosystem. This must be booked in advance.

Guided Bush Walks - Rock Art & History
A guided walk to ancient rock art sites, exploring the history of early human inhabitants of the region and their connection to the land. A fascinating cultural and historical complement to wildlife experiences.This must be booked in advance.

Picnic Lunch at Bushpig Lapa
A memorable outdoor dining experience set in the bush, on a scenic hillside or open plain. Enjoy a relaxed lunch or traditional braai prepared by the lodge team, surrounded by nature.

Cultural Experiences
On request, local dancers can be invited to the lodge to share traditional music and dance, offering guests an authentic cultural experience in an intimate and respectful setting. This must be booked in advance.

Village Visit - Vaalwater
Guests may enjoy an outing to Vaalwater, the local town near the reserve. Guests can explore small shops and local crafts, enjoy a casual stop for coffee, and get a feel for the region beyond the reserve.

In-Lodge Massage
A professional masseuse can be arranged to come to the lodge for in-room or on-site treatments. A perfect way to unwind after game drives and a day in the bush. Must be booked in advance.
